Strategic Partnership Between Taishan Group and Babcock & Wilcox Beijing Revolutionizes MSW Incineration Technology

In a significant leap towards sustainable waste management, Taishan Group has joined hands with Babcock & Wilcox Beijing Company (B&WBC) to advance the technology and efficiency of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) incinerators. This collaboration, initiated in 2019, aims to enhance waste-to-energy solutions, contributing to cleaner urban environments and improved public health.

About MSW Incinerators

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Incinerators, commonly known as garbage incinerators, play a crucial role in modern waste management systems. These incinerators are specialized boilers designed to process municipal solid waste, converting it into energy. The MSW incinerator system comprises four main components:

  1. Waste Pretreatment System
  2. Incineration System
  3. Flue Gas Dedusting System
  4. Auxiliary Ignition System

This integrated system ensures automatic feeding, screening, drying, incinerating, deashing, dedusting, and automatic control, making waste management more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Taishan Group and Babcock & Wilcox Beijing: A Powerful Alliance

Established in 1986, Babcock & Wilcox Beijing Company (B&WBC) is a joint venture between the Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) and Beijing Boiler Work (BBW). B&W, founded in 1867, is renowned for its pioneering work in power plant boilers. B&WBC, the first joint venture in China’s boiler industry, boasts an impressive production capacity of 8000MW. The company specializes in industrial boilers, medium and high-pressure power plant boilers, and advanced SCR products.

B&WBC has successfully integrated over 130 years of design experience and research results into its operations, consistently delivering top-quality products. The company has obtained ASME “S,” “PP,” and “U” stamp certifications, the A-class Boiler Manufacturing License, and ISO9001 certification.

Milestones in Waste Incineration Projects

In recent years, the partnership has made significant strides in the waste-to-energy sector. In 2019, B&WBC secured contracts for several key projects, including the Shandong Dezhou 2×400t/d and Henan Yanshi 2×600t/d waste incineration projects. These projects have significantly enhanced the garbage disposal capacity, supporting the transformation and growth of both companies.

In 2018, Taishan Group won a bid for two 600TPD MSW incinerators. These incinerators, with a steam capacity of 54.5t/h, steam pressure of 4.0MPa, and steam temperature of 400℃, are capable of generating 12MW of power. This achievement underscores Taishan Group’s commitment to advancing waste-to-energy technologies.

The collaboration between Taishan Group and Babcock & Wilcox Beijing represents a significant advancement in the field of MSW incineration. By leveraging combined expertise and innovative technologies, both companies are at the forefront of promoting sustainable waste management and energy generation solutions.
